A combination of percentage and letter grades are utilized for evaluation of student performance in these courses. Field exercises and project reports are graded using letters (A to F) with +/- subdivisions. These grades are converted into percentages to calculate the course total score. Final course grades are reported as letters (A-F) with +/- designations, according to current university policy.

Students must complete and submit all materials and reports, including the independent project, by the last scheduled day of the course, June 29. Incomplete (I) grades will be considered only in special circumstances--severe accident, major illness, military service, etc.
