ES 331/767 Grading Scale

A combination of point, percentage, and letter grades are utilized for evaluation of student performance in this course. Exams are scored on points, usually 70-80 per exam, which are converted into percentage grades. Lab exercises are marked on a 10-point scale, and the semester total lab score is converted into a percentage grade. Reports and presentations are graded using letters (A to F) with +/- subdivisions. Final course grades are reported as letters (A-F) with +/- designations. Incomplete (I) grades will be considered only in extreme circumstances, such as severe illness, major accident, military service, etc.

This course follows the university's academic dishonesty policy. This means specifically that all work (exams, labs, reports) must be written substantially in the student's own words. Quotations must be indicated clearly. Complete references must be provided for any materials taken from other publications, such as books, webpages, videos, maps, etc.
