ES 771 Grading Scale
A combination of point, percentage, and letter grades are utilized for evaluation of student performance in this course. Lab exercises are marked on a 20-point scale, and the semester total lab score is converted into a percentage grade. Project reports are graded using letters (A to F) with +/- subdivisions. The final exam is likewise given letter grades. Final course grades are reported as letters
(A-F) with +/- designations. Incomplete (I) grades will be considered only in extreme circumstances, such as severe illness, major accident, military service, etc.

Policy on incomplete grades: An I must be completed within one semester, or it will automatically be converted to an F. Course work for incomplete grades will be accepted through the last day of classes in the semester following the course (excluding summer). All necessary course materials must be handed in by that date. Additional assignments will not be accepted during finals week.
- Percentage values may be adjusted in exceptional cases.
Note: All student exams, reports, and exercises are kept on file in paper or digital format for at least one year. These documents may be consulted to resolve any concerns about grading.
