Starlight zircon is the trade name for the blue variety of zircon.

Specific Gravity:  4.60 - 4.70
Hardness:  6.50 - 7.50

The gem quality zircons range in color from yellow, brown, orange, red, violet, blue, to green.  The starlight zircon is created through heating brown zircon varieties.  In nature the gray-brown and red-brown zircons are most abundant.

Starlight zircon is found in Myanmar, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Brazil, Korea, Vietnam, to name a few.

Zircon is neither a zodiac gem, nor an anniversary stone.
