Note that the wall on the right side has crenalations in the top of the wall for shooting arrows at attackers. Beijing is to the left and there are no crenalations in the wall on that side. | |
| In some places the wall is very steep and steps have been made. | | |

| The small building is a watch tower. These were constructed all along the wall for protection and to better observe any attacking forces. | |
