The minor in Latin American Studies is a multidiscplinary program that provides students with detailed information about the people, culture, and geography of Latin America as well as the Latino Culture in the United States. The program combines courses from disciplines, such as art, history, geography, biology, sociology, literature, music, and Spanish in order to provide an intensive exploration of Latin America.

A minor in Latin American Studies would be beneficial to students interested in many types of careers including teaching, public service, health care, law, the sciences, the arts, the media, and other fields. The minor in Latin American Studies provides a wonderful complement to a student's participation in the International Student Exchange Program, such that courses taken in the Latin American Studies program would add to the international experience of the student.
