There are five problems worth 20 points each.
They do not necessarily take equal time or effort.

Problem Assignment No. 1:
(Do as soon as you can, prior to No. 2 - No.
2 is due Tuesday, July 13 at the beginning of class).There are two purposes to this
assignment: i) Practice in creating a web page, and ii) sharing information about
yourself, partially to help in forming teams for the Continuous
Improvement Team Project.
1. Do a WebQuest. Send the web page you create as an attachment to an e-mail message (be sure to include image files). Even if you have done this before, in another class, please, make a new one for this class. Be sure to follow the current instructions carefully. You make start with a prior one and edit for current affairs and to meet the new standards. Thank you!
Problem Assignment No. 2
Read the case about AOL on pp. 166-167, related to service design and strategy. Discuss the case by responding to the four questions posed at the end. If you have had personal experience with AOL, you might add that, also. Regarding Q. 4, you might also comment on the government's case against Microsoft, if you care to.
Turn in your hard copy paper, in class, on Tuesday, July 13.
NOTE: Hard copy papers are to be typewritten (wordprocessed), single-spaced, no more than two pages, stapled, no cover sheet.
Problem Assignment No. 3
Create a web page which discusses, and illustrates with an organizational example, one of the concepts related to the "Just-in-Time" philosophy presented in Chapter 8. The web page should demonstrate your ability to communicate your ideas via creation of a web page by using at least one image, at least one link to an external source, a return e-mail link to yourself, and a background color or image different from the default.
The web page file and any image files used are to be sent to the instructor via e-mail attachment, by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 19. Late points will be deducted starting on Tuesday, July 20. However, getting it done is most important as practice for an excellent Electronic Journal Article. (Partial credit will be given for late assignments.)
Problem Assignment No. 4
Read case on pp. 493-494 of the text, Ohio Tool Company, and respond to the three questions at the end of the case. This is a hard copy paper assignment, due at the beginning of class on Monday, July 26.
Problem Assignment No. 5
Solve Charlie's Pizza, problem No. 4 on p. 617, showing all detail of your work, each step, incorporating the P Model (formulas 15.10, .11,.12 plus Exhibit 15.6 on p. 594; example worked out on pp. 599-601). Use two decimal points each time. You should get 634 pounds.
Problem due Monday, Aug 2, at the beginning of class.
